SPACE ODDITY: A FILM

50 years ago (July 11th, 1969), “Space Oddity” was released. This short film and personal project was created to pay tribute to David Bowie and his iconic song. We edited hundreds of hours of NASA public domain footage to bring you our take on Major Tom’s tragic story.

Fun fact: Major Tom in the film is mostly “played” by the astronaut John Glenn. He was one of America’s very first astronauts and the first American to orbit the Earth in 1962. He was also the oldest person to go to space – being part of an expedition at the age of 77. We didn’t know all this when we chose him, but inadvertently picked a man with same passion for space travel as Major Tom.
